Editing Content

Typically, when you open files for editing, ContentCenter downloads a copy of the file to a temporary location on your local system. After you edit the local copy you must upload it to the Content Server. ContentCenter’s Local File Manager handles upload and download transactions.

Although most users edit content locally, you can edit files directly on the Content Server. See Configuring Local Files Manager Settings for instruction about how to set up direct edit.

You can open files for editing in many locations throughout the ContentCenter interface. Your ability to edit content depends on many factors including your role and access permissions; action links are gray, or not displayed at all, when you can not perform an action.
