Note: Some file types cannot be previewed in a browser window. If you try to preview such a file, VisualPreview displays an error message. If this happens, you can still view the contents of the file by opening it in an editing program. To do this, click “download” in the message.
Depending on your role, permissions, and other factors, the following actions are available to you from the VisualPreview tab:
Previewing Local Files
You can preview files from the My Local Files screen. This is useful when you are working on files locally and want to see your changes. You must be connected to the ContentCenter server to preview files.
To preview a local file:
The file is automatically uploaded to ContentCenter and displayed in a new browser window or its associated application.
Note: You do not enter VisualPreview mode when previewing files from the Local Files Manager. File is simply displayed without access to VisualPreview functionality.
If you experience problems previewing files from the Local Files Manager, such as the displayed file does not contain your changes, ask your administrator to examine the cache settings for IIS (Internet Information Server).
